Maurizio Biancarelli has been a full time nature photographer and writer for many years. He contributes to several Italian and international nature photography magazines including National Geographic Italia, BBC Wildlife, Terre Sauvage, Bell’Italia, Meridiani Montagne, In Viaggio, Touring, Naturfoto, Bell’Europa.
On assignement of Italian Ministry for Environment and Umbria regional government, he published four books on the Umbrian natural landscape. Maurizio has undertaken numerous other nature photograhpy assignments both in Italy and abroad. In november 2014 his latest book "Winter Tales" has been released
His work has been exhibited in many venues in Europe, and has received photography awards in international competitions. Included in Mr. Biancarelli’s accomplishments are Veolia Wildlife Photographer of the Year and GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year.
He was invited to make presentations in Germany, Belgium, France, England and was member of the jury in the Asferico and GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year international competitions.
Mr. Biancarelli participated in the prestigious Wild Wonders of Europe (www.wild-wonders.com) project, sponsored by National Geographic, WWF, Nikon. The bulk of his work relates to the natural environment of Italy, but he also travels frequently to a variety of northern European countries and to the Arctic.
He organizes photo trips and workshop for both experienced and budding photographers.
